Budgy is built with privacy at its core. We do not sell your data, use ads, or track you across apps and websites. Your financial information stays on your device and, if you use iCloud Sync, in your private iCloud account.
Budgy does not collect or transmit your budgeting data, transactions, categories, savings goals, receipts, or other financial information to Budgy servers.
If you contact us by email or through our feedback form, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, feedback type, and message. Feedback sent from the app may also include basic support details such as the app version, build number, device model, and system version so we can diagnose issues and respond to your request.
All financial data you enter into Budgy is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. If iCloud Sync is enabled, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account via CloudKit.
Budgy may also store app preferences on your device, such as onboarding state, theme, currency, display settings, iCloud sync status, and purchase entitlement state. If you export a CSV or backup file, or save or share a summary image (such as a Budgy Wrapped card), that file or image is created only when you choose to create it and is controlled by you.
If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is subject to Apple’s privacy policies. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
If you use Sign in with Apple, Budgy may receive the Apple user identifier and, if Apple provides it, your name or email address. The Apple user identifier is stored securely on your device using Keychain so Budgy can restore your sign-in state. Budgy does not use Sign in with Apple to create a Budgy server account.
Budgy can use your camera or selected photos to scan receipts or account screenshots and help fill in transaction details. Receipt images and recognized text are processed on your device using Apple frameworks and are not uploaded to Budgy servers.
Budgy does not include analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, tracking pixels, or third-party monitoring tools.
All purchases and subscriptions are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Budgy checks App Store transaction status to unlock paid features and restore purchases.
We use feedback information only to respond to your message, provide support, investigate bugs, improve Budgy, and protect the feedback form from spam or abuse. We do not sell feedback information or use it for advertising.
Budgy may ask for permission to send you notifications, for example when a new Budgy Wrapped summary is ready. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not involve Budgy servers. You can disable them at any time in your device’s Settings.
You can permanently delete your Budgy account and all of your budget data at any time in the app under Settings → Account & Sync → Delete Account & Data. This removes your financial data from your device, removes the saved Apple sign-in identifier from your device’s Keychain, and, if iCloud Sync is enabled, removes the synced data from your personal iCloud account.
Because Budgy does not store your data on Budgy servers, there is no server-side account for us to delete. Any CSV or backup files you previously exported remain under your control and are not affected by account deletion.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
